More RGB Peripherals! This Time From Tesoro: Excalibur RGB Mechanical Keyboard

Tesoro joins the RGB wars with its brand new mechanical keyboard the Excalibur. It features the "new" hotness in peripherals, 16.8 million RGB back-lighting! Other prominent features include NKRO over USB, 512 kB on-board memory so all your settings travel with you and mechanical switches (appears to be Kailh based) in Blue, Brown, Red and Black flavors. It is available right now for $120.

For more information, visit the product page: http://www.tesorotec.com/gaming-keyboard/tesoro-excalibur-rgb-g7nfl-mechanical-gaming-keyboard.html

What I like about Tesoro's offering over other RGB mechanical keyboards is its subdued design. It is not too gamery like the others. I still wouldn't waste money on some disco lights, though.

Honestly, this is more appealing then the other RGB keyboards. It is cheaper and it doesn't have a tramp stamp/was designed by a 12 year old/is Razer, even if it isn't cherry IDGAF, cherry made a dumb move doing that thing with corsair IMO.

If they made it in a ten-keyless version 10/10 would buy (if I had money)

Well that's a first. Don't think I have ever seen anyone who refused to buy them actually used them at some point. Not feeling special is quite the reason for not wanting them.... I've used the green switches and they felt pretty amazing to me. Exactly like blues with a high actuation point. Because you know... that's what the switch is lol.

It ain't engineer like cherry, cherry is German engineering, made in germany, it makes it feel more premium, not like others which are made in china

I misread that as Tesco (supermarket chain in the UK, and maybe elsewhere).

But it looks good. How do those switches compare to Cherry's own?

I'd like to see something from @LinusTech on this :)

Yeah, I know it's "premium" because it's made in germany and from the best keyboard company but I can tell you from experience that "razer green switches" are high quality too. The only reason I don't have my razer tournament edition is because my girlfriend hated the noise so I went with reds in a k70

You know, its like people say, each one has different taste, and like what my friend says "I do what I want" So we can just leave it at that, plus razer just isn't worth the money for keyboards, laptops, ok, but keyboards are a bit overpriced

I got a fully mechanical green switch 10 keyless for $60.... That's about going price of dirt for a mechanical. Not everything they have is overpriced.

Tesoro joins the RGB wars with its brand new mechanical keyboard the Excalibur.

Tesoro already has RGB Mechanical keyboards. My housemate bought one recently, and I have to say, considering here in Aus it came in at $80 less than Corsair and Razers offerings, I was fucking impressed. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between the Kailh browns and the Cherry MX Browns, so there's that.

Actually if I'm not mistaken, for all Corsairs talk of being "the first RGB Mechanical keyboard", I'm pretty sure Tesoro actually beat them to market. They released their keyboard several months before Corsairs

Here u go ;)

And then you look at his review of the Deathadder 2014 where he says he couldn't tell the difference between the Razer greens and Cherry blues, when most people on here harp on about how much worse they find them for typing

Since I am still. FUCKING. WAITING. For the Func KB-460 with BROWN switches and RED backlight, this might just have to do if it's first to market in Norway.

You hear that Scandinavian distributors? If you drop the ball on this one too we'll have a thing or two to discuss.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I believe Tesoro's first "RGB" board didn't have per-key back-lighting: when you changed the color, the whole board would change to that color. These new RGB boards offer per-key back-lighting for higher customization.

I figured it would be a little more refined. Like I said dude, I have had hands on experience with it, it's the Lobera Supreme if I'm not mistaken. It still had mech keyboards and you could pick the colour, which I think honestly is all I'd look for in a keyboard, maybe the option to have a row of keys in a different colour. I definitely wouldn't do like, wave effects and things
