All the benchmarks I have seen disagree with you... 

 

no comment on OCd cards though.. but every 970 review the 780ti pretty much beats it or is on par

True, so if the OP is not going to overclock his gpu, then the OP should go for the 780ti only if it is the same price as the 970(Currently $50 more in most cases)
