Ram Usage Problem!

Ryan.L

So when I check my ram usage in the task manager its around 70% on idle i have 8 GB and I'm sure that its all detected. I have checked for malware and viruses and i have none. Its not my ram because I have sent my ram back and got a new set. Does anyone know  a fix?

Open task manager and take a screenshot of all your processes. 70% of 8GB is 5.6GB.

force shutdown? Doesn't matter how you shut it down or restart the RAM is cleared once it loses power. I'd do a complete scan with malware bytes. seems a little high, even at idle. https://www.malwarebytes.org/

If you use CCleaner at all you just use the regular cleaner function. Otherwise http://help.ea.com/en/article/clearing-your-browsers-cache/#Google Chrome https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95582

Ok, make sure you click Cleaner on the right then the Applications top on the top, and select; Cache, History, Cookies, Last Download Location, and Session. then click Run Cleaner on the bottom right. :)

Open the task manager, go to tab "performance", on the right bottom "resource monitor".

Program Resource monitor: Tab -> "Memory" and expand "processes", it should display all the processes that use ram.

Also have a look at "Phsysikal Memory" it tells you, if any of your ram is used for your hardware.

Have you activated the intel graphics for lucid virtu? it takes part of your ram as gpuram.

You could also try unenabling some programs to start with windows. klick the windows icon in the taskbar, type in "msconfig",

open tab "systemstart" and disable everything except your anti virus, graphics- and audio -driver.

If that doesn´t help, I would consider reinstalling windows.

good luck

Thats normal. But you should rather have a look at your running processes...

I have 8 tabs running in google chrome, uses 4,76gb. Maybe you shouldn´t use that many tabs? :D

Close google chrome if you´re planning to game

Thanks for the screenshot.  The comment was for Ryan though :)

Ryan,

Have you tried crhome with all extension turned off?  Run memtest on your pc just to make sure, from the screenshot you provided the amout of ram used by the system is no way near 3.5 GB which is roughtly 46% of your 8GB ram.
