I tried playing some local multiplayer games with a friend on PC before... Two dudes One keyboard.. Not the greatest experience.
Not to mention, personally I'd rather have the entire screen to myself. Especially in certain games, like shooters, where screen peeking is a thing... Online Multiplayer / Multi-Monitor setup ftw.

The more machines (consoles, rigs) you need, the better to the makers.

The old times of split screen are over. Haven't seen it since PS2/GameCube generation of consoles and some pretty old PC games. Not sure about sports games though.

Plenty of console games still have Split Screen, including all the Call of Duty games, and most racing games, like Forza. I imagine most sports games like NFL or NBA have it still too.

Computer games, on the other hand, don't. And I'm guessing the primary reason is that the devs cannot guarantee that a large number of their customers will even have appropriate input controls for multiple players (ex: Controller Pads).

Are you using the 970 4GB in your sig for that? I'm still rocking a Gigabyte HD 7950 WF3 3GB card. Considering your 970 is more powerful then my 7950, I think I might struggle to keep 30 FPS.

yea that was with my 970 , i have tried it with 660 sli aswell but not enough Vram for 2 x 1080p , you should be able to get 30 fps at medium settings :)
