AMD A10-5800K Strange Temps?

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

FM2 temp sensor is borked. Ignore it if you're not experiencing jet sounds or leave it in UEFI for 30 mins (uefi generally gets to load temps).

Hi,

So recently I cleaned my PC of dust completely, and even with nice clean fan filters, etc, I am getting strange (or at least in my mind strange) temp readings for my AMD A10-5800K.  Even at idle, just running CPUID and Google Chrome, I am getting ~60C-ish temps, but it can drop down to mid 40's and also reach the 70's.  I have a Hyper 212 EVO, and it's fan is blowing fresh air into the heatsink (mounted on the bottom of heatsink, blowing air up), then straight out the case's exhaust fan.  I have heard that this CPU can sometimes have problems with FM2/FM2+ mobo's (my mobo is a GIGABYTE ga-f2a88xm-hd3), but I just need to confirm this.  Oh, and fans are not ramping up or getting really loud, in fact they are quite quiet.  In bios it said the CPU fan, which is the only one connected to the mobo (case fans connected to molex/psu) was at 1333ish rpm before I cleaned case, now CPUID says it is around 750-1000rpm.  I have attached a screenshot of CPUID's readings from a little while ago.

Thanks!

for a stock cooler those temps would be normal in my experience but since you're using a 212 evo I'm not sure if that's normal. normally it would be around 38 to 40 in idle

AMD overheating problems... do the usual cooling check up, as you did already cleaning your computer, change your thermal paste, look for better airflow.
