Shouldn't this be under New Builds and Plannings not General Discussions?

Backseat moderating is against CoC.

THE SPEC-02 IS SEXY.

Yes, but an ATX case with a mATX mobo looks a bit weird IMO

This forum is full of people with cauliflower ears and broccoli eyes.

Why not explain WHY you're choosing the builds you are, critique eachother's builds. Discuss pros and cons. People who ask for a build are not tech savvy, they can't look at 5 random builds and pick the best one for their needs. You guys are just vomiting information with no substance.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Swap out that Barracuda for a WD Caviar Blue.

Barracuda is slightly faster than the Caviar Blue but you will not notice the performance difference in real time unless you're reading/writing a extremely large file.

The Barracuda's reading and write speeds are about 155 mb/s

Caviar Blue is about 150 mb/s

Warranty of Barracuda- 1 year

Warranty of WD Cavair Blue- 2 years.

Overall, the 2 year warranty is a much better trade than that extra speed.

OP mentioned living in SoCal. The temperatures are hot during summer.

For aesthetic purposes, I will agree on the R4 for the case.

However, for the purpose of cooling the PC and increasing longevity of his/her computer, I would swap out the R4 for a 300r window version to maintain the aesthetics while performing slightly better at cooling.

If the case is too pricey, switch to the non-window version of 300r to save money.

Non-Window 300r - $59.99 ($10 rebate from 69.99)

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-300r

Windowed 300r - $77.99 (10 rebate from $87.99)
