Triple display ultra widescreen possible?

Ok so I recently upgraded my pc:

i7 5820k

16GB DDR4 2133Mhz ram

970 GPU

And I am wanting to go triple display now I really like the ultra widescreen displays so was wondering would it be possible to go triple display gaming with 3 of those bad boys? with atleast 40-50FPS on say BF4? I already get around 150-160 FPS in bf4 on ultra 1080P when streaming.

970 is a little weak for 3x 1080p 21:9 monitors

it should manage 3 16:9 1080p displays though if you can sacrifice AA

If it's 12:9 then it's not 1080p is it? :P

1080 is the pixels on the height... is 21:9, the 9 are 1080 pixels, the 21 are 2520

we use K for horizontal pixels and p for vertical. so a 1080p monitor could also be called 2k

1080p (HD) is a digital media standard for television, as is UHD ( marketed as 4K but one of many 4K's). They are all 16:9. The guys who define the standard come up with the name so it's easy for people to refer to the whole resolution without having to say it in full. When it's an uncommon resolution, or non standard, just saying the amount of pixels in height or width doesn't say much at all.

Regarding K for horizontal pixels, 2K is even less descriptive than 1080p since it's 1920px wide. (1.92K?) there is also another 4K (used in movies) that is 4096px wide, and UHD is 3840px wide but they both have the same height. True, specifying an aspect ratio does help, but why not just specify the other dimension instead?

1080p is 1920x1080, 1080p isn't 1x1080, 2x1080, 2560x1080 or 10000000x1080. If it was it would be pointless using it to describe a 2d resolution if only one of the dimentions is specified.

I usually hate on '1440p' since that isn't really a thing, but it is more suited to the moniker since it follows the same lines as the 16:9 digital media standard (and a multiple of HD) compared to what i'm on about above.

Haha edit: i thought you said 21:9 rather than 16:9 but either way my point still stands.

lol you should realise that official wording and the short hand people use are different, p for vertical res and k for horizontal (which we round)

I'm actually surprised no one has commented with "I run triple display ultra widescreen's" but from what I have been researching I "Should" be able to get around 30-40FPS on BF4 so thinking of upgrading to 970 SLI but I will be saving up 2 months to actually afford another card + 3 ultrawidescreen displays :)

I run triple 1080p monitors... ultra wides would be nuts!

I don't know of a single card that can even run my setup with 50+ FPS...

I currently have 2 7970s and usually sit 45+ in most games.

I know, i know, but still ... you can't describe 2 dimentions by just saying one of them. Even less so when you aren't even specific about one of them and round it.

1k. What's that? 1440x900? 1280x1024? It's not much effort to go to so that someone knows exactly what you're saying.

In your case, when you said 1080p sure, you mean 1920x1080 which is what 1080p is. But by saying 1080p 16:9 you're either overly specific or you mean that there are a variety of 1080p's which there aren't.

21:9 1080p

21:9 1440p

16:9 1080p

16:9 1440p

16:9 2160p

much easier then using any of the Ultrahd or ultrawideHD.
