Tonight I went to class like any other night and about an hour into the class our professor started showing videos on what we would cover. One of the videos he pulled up was a Tech Quickie video on codecs. So for the first time in my college career I was able to talk to everyone about how great Linus is without seeming creepy. Have any of you had any experience like this in school? For anyone interested the class is Fundamentals of Communications and Networking.

Unfortunately I haven't run into anyone who knows about LTT or any of the other big Yt tech personalities. I'm usually the one telling everyone else about them haha. Some of Linus' videos and a couple from Tek Syndicate have helped me help some friends with buying PC parts.

The closest thing I have is some indian kid on my facebook that knows about uravgconsumer/youraverageconsumer on youtube. Oh and I believe some guy at my school watched one of linus' build guides when installing his mobo. The rest of my school is tech illiterate and have mever watched or even heard of any tech youtuber

I took a class in highschool called "introduction to business computing". The first 1/3 of the course was just PC hardware, PC hardware, and more PC hardware. I pwned it. It was great. The later parts solving problems in Excel were pretty boring though.

The guy who bought my old Corsair C70 ironically went to my school. There is a small group of people on my campus that are PC enthusiasts... However, they all seem to build rather stupid PCs from both a spec and aesthetic standpoint.

I guess what I'm trying to say is yes, there are PC enthusiasts who watch LTT and such at school, but they are not of the caliber you would find on this forum.

I always find it interesting though when there are some friends of mine (Non-tech enthusiasts for sure) that have liked Newegg on Facebook.

My friends and I are all pretty into computers and stuff so when they come up with a problem or something they don't understand much about, I can just pull out information from a lot of Linus's videos and they're like "how do you know that?" and I tell them about Linus Tech Tips. I'm pretty sure the only reason I know more than them about most things computer wise is from Linus's videos and this forum.

The closest thing I got is a friend that stumbled across LTT on youtube, briefly said "this guy has quite a lot of tech vids" (i mean, no duh...) and commented that I go on LTT forums a lot during english class.

Everyone is like "oh yeah, like, hdmi plugs into usb right?"

Home is where the heart my desktop is.

I used to show techquickies to our students to avoid them being taught by our dumb teacher, but their quite ungrateful (especially some of the girls).
