Isn't there an issue with MSI 970's where the fans don't work? I mean, not just the feature where the fans don't really spin when not yet reaching a certain temp but they just stop altogether because of issues on sticker on the card? Read it somewhere in reddit, (cant post the link since reddit is not allowed in the office -_-)

from what i remember it was oposite, the fan always ran at 100% because it could get borked when removing the sticker. I ripped that thing off while the fan flexed and bent. I haven't had any issues.. might have been lucky.

either way, be careful when removing that sticker and you're golden, they said they were going to do something about it but i'm not sure they have done anything as of right now.

Yup I think that's the issue they had with the sticker which is weird, is this the first time they put a sticker on their gpu fans?

i can't say for 100% certain that they have never done it even once before. But yes, i'm pretty sure this is the first time. The sticker is there to tell you about the no spinning feature up until a certain load/temp, so that people don't get worried thinking it's broken causing a support mayhem. They force you to remove the sticker before installing the card, making sure you can't avoid seeing the label.

the adhesive on the sticker is way too strong and it covers like half the gpu, it wasn't exactly the best decision they have made.

What do you (all) think of the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW? I've been debating that or the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970.

I have read good and bad reviews of the ACX 2.0 cooler on the EVGA but the brand seems to be very popular and it has a higher clock speed than the Gigabyte not sure how well that translates to actual game performance.

I am currently shopping for components for my first PC build later this year.
