Adaptive CPU voltage not working

This has been solved now! 

 

It is to do with the power plans which Microsoft has within windows. If it is set to High performance it will pin the CPU at the maximum CPU voltage allowed and try to reach the desired core speed... however if it is set to Balanced it will allow the core voltage and core speed to move adaptively!!!

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew what might be going on with my processor and the power it is using...

I have a 4770k and I have had it running at 4.6ghz on 1.200v for quite a while. I have been using adaptive voltage and it has been happily moving its core voltage up and down depending on how much use it has for the last couple of weeks.

I decided to try and overclock my RAM earlier and now, the adaptive voltage wont move at all on CPU-Z. It constantly just sits at 1.200v and is at 31 degrees c constantly... even when it is idle. I have taken the RAM overclock off and cant get the adaptive voltage to come back... :(

31c idle is normal...

31c idle is normal...

My system usually normally idles at around 26-28c, but still... My core voltage isnt moving adaptively and neither is my core speed...
