memory clock

noob question what is the standed on displaying it. I know its most shows the actual clock some some varies so its kinda gets confusing eg

970 as reference

 

commonly it should  says 1750Mhz at actual speed

and effective is 7000Mhz

others software and brand like Gainward,nvidia inspector shows 3500Mhz

 

 i mean whats the point of x it by 2 when it should be x4

No idea why they show 3500MHz I always seen 4x and never 2x.

Overclocking software tends to show the inaccurate 2x clock.

The default base clock is 1750, and GDDR5 is effectively 4x that much bandwidth.
