Hello everyone,

So I am in the market for a new GTX 980, but the search has been frustrating. I have decided on a ASUS Strix GTX 980, but then again I can not find one for $600.. all prices everywhere are either sky rocket irrational, or all stores are out of stock, both online and real life. I have researched further only to find the same problem with other brands. The only brands I can find are Zotac, Gigabyte, MSI, which I have a pretty deep seated dislike for.

Anyone have any ideas if GTX 980s will be way more available by Nov 10?

Thanks

in my opinion Gigabyte has the best cooler on the new 900 series cards, but that is just me. i had no luck finding any 970s in the market,.....

EVGA 970 just came in stock two hours ago, grab it while it lasts. forget the 980 unless you really want it.

its a crapshoot right now.  browse your prefered vendors regularly and pull the trigger when you see what your want.  i wouldnt hold your breath though.

remember it takes 2 seconds to google it yourself......

Yeah their coolers are pretty cool, I am just obsessed with the Strix but apparently no one sells them yet

Don't get Strix, if going 900 series then get Gigabyte. With 980 EVGA would work too but IMO the 980 isn't worth paying double the price of a 970 for a 20% performance increase

lol im still suggesting 780ti on close out prices.  if you look around u should be able to find a dcu ii 780 ti for around 400 with a $30 rebate and borderlands code.   there were bunchmarks on here showing a 2-3 fps diff on most games.  nobrainer in my book. suspeciously most sites had no direct comparison between 780ti and 980.....

remember it takes 2 seconds to google it yourself......

my dcu ii is running borderlands pre sequel at like 187 fps maxxed at 1440p (native) and 73 fps at 3840x2160 with no af or fxaa using dsr.   its pretty damn powerful.

780s are just a but less than the ti  right now it seems.    still a good card though

Stock should be increasing soon according to EVGA on their own forums.  Just wait a bit and you'll see the cards come back in stock.

EDIT:  I just got charged for mine from Amazon so they're coming.

Here's where Im lucky

The local stores here all have way to many 980s in both reference and ASUS/MSI/GB etc version. They're nicely priced too.

I could go to the store closest to me and buy 15 of them with no hastle :)

atm dont shop for a cooler, go for the card, they will all perform within 5fps of each other, and just pull the trigger on anything cheap
