RevoDrive vs Win 8 Optimization

Go to solution Solved by squirrl,

It's disabled on all ssd's

Hi, I have a RevoDrive X2 240GB witch I use for my Windows 8 boot. I noticed that when i go to Win 8 Defrag it shows that optimization is not available to my SSD RevoDrive, anyone know why that is? I am thinking that its cause i am using a PCI-E based SSD, witch is not recognized. Is there something wrong or is this normal for a PCI-E based SSD?

THIS IS MY FIRST POST.  :)

Amazing read and writes on that thing. I kinda want one.

As to it being disabled I have no idea why. But as for the defraging of an SSD you would not want to do that anyways. It just adds wear on the drive and reduces the lifespan on the drive and would make little to no difference in performance. It could be because of pcie and it not being attached by sata but someone might know more about that.

Welcome to the forums and what a great province to live in.

Its disabled on all ssd's or atleast it seems to be as ive been using win 8 for a while and it wont touch my ssd's same with a few other win 8 pc's ive seen

OK, thx for the fast replay guyz. I thought that it may be disabled on Win 8 sins its not good to Defrag a SSD. it could also be because its PCIE, maybe someone on this forum with a RevoDrive running Win 8 could shed some light on this.
