Replacement Headphones

Fireblade6342

Hello Im stuck can you help

I have a sat of Tritton AX720's that are now old, Heavy and just pretty horrible.

I play WOT, COD, FPS and RTS. I also use them for the odd film and music now and then.

So im in the UK and have a few options please can you advise?

SteelSeries Wireless H

HyperX Cloud Headset + ASUS/ Creative Sound card.

Sennheiser 558 + Creative Sound blaster Z (Inc Mic)

I had marked off the Astro A40's but they seem to get good reviews?

Linus Said both the Wireless H and the Hyperx are great headphones so im not too sure!!

Please help

Kind Regards

i eould say that some audio nuts will suggest that with your large budget you get real headphones.

you may want to look at a pair of hd558

I selected other:

When I was looking for new headphones I looked at both the HD558 and a pair of AKG K550s.

I found the AKGs much more comfortable. I did like the sound from the HD558s but they just were not comfortable to me.

However I do recommend checking them out somewhere I have tried things that everyone has said are comfortable but I put them on and they just were not.

Other:

For Open headphone, I think HD558 + Modmic (or other mic that fits your budget) should be OK for your style. HD558 doesn't really need a sound card or an amp to drive it. Save some bucks and get a better mic.

or, you can get a Beyerdynamic DT990 or HD598 too. Those are pretty good for their prices.

If you prefer closed headphone, DT770 and Custom One Pro might work for you.

As asked above, budget? features needed? any preferences?

If you want a wireless headset I'd say Corsair V2100.

If you want a all-in-one headset I'd say HyperX Cloud and Corsair V1500 are pretty good and the A40 is a little overpriced but has some cool "cosmetical" features.

If you want the best experience, headphone + mic, no doubt.

Budget?

Thanks for all the replies!!

About £170 GBP really, i paid about the same for the AX720 back then and its lasted so cant see why its not worth paying the cash.

Im not too fussed if its wireless or wired, it just seemed that there are not many good reviews for wired headphones :(

My only preference is comfort and quility really the tritton are great for what i use them for but if you plan on wearing them for more than 30-40 minutes you will have a headache. plus they waigh a ton (about 400g's maybe more?)

Any ideas on where to try headsets on? I live in London but it seems that most PC and Headphone retailers are up north !!

Thanks again!!
