Hey, so i'm gonna be building a PC for the first time in about a month, I have read up all the stuff I need know for a few months now and been considering using

the memory I already have in the PC i'm using right now.

If it was from a trustworthy manufacturer i wouldn't have been here asking for help, but here I am.

The memory sticks are HDDR3 1333mhz 2x4gb 256MX8 from the company Unifosa.

I've had them since I bought the pre-built computer a few years ago and I've not had any troubles so far, so would I be okay putting them in my new build or should

I stay safe and buy some new RAM? (recommendations are appreciated also)

This is the build i'm gonna go with.

I have never heard of that brand, nor HDDR3.

Specs are on my profile page

like... HDDR, HDDR2, HDDR3, or HDDR4? those are pretty good sticks ;)

But if its from a trustworthy manufacturer, i have no complaints. Word of advice: Used memory sticks can be faulty make sure to run some memtest on them.

-snip-

personally i'd google the company and see what kind of DIMMS they are

and then I'd go and use memtest86 to test it.

If it's okay and it works, i'd say it'll be fine.

Might have been an unfortunate typo when they tried to put 'GDDR3'?

When I Googled HDDR3 all I found was eBay ads for RAM from this manu, but when I looked at the manu site, there was no mention of any 'HDDR3' anywhere

If it was GDDR3 RAM wouldn't it show up in CPU-Z though? It says it's just normal DDR3 RAM

Seems like nobody is entirely sure, I think i'll have to bite the dust and buy new RAM, it sucks though since prices for RAM in Sweden is usually 2 times more expensive than U.S prices.

Anybody have any recommendations for which memory to choose or will i be good with BallistiX?

BallistiX, Corsair, Patriot, and G.Skill. theyre all good RAM manufacturers. I suggest using the current one you have and buy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104446 these are like budget rams so no extreme gamings but.. budgetly. Dual channel is the best you could find.

PC3-12800 ... sounds like regular DDR3 to me.  Try to build the PC with the Unifosa RAM, but keep some cash aside in case it doesn't fit.

It's not like i can't afford it, it just feels nice to save some money sometimes. I'll probably sell the Unifosa RAM and maybe get a few bucks from it.

Also i discovered that the G.Skill RAM is unusally cheap in Sweden, even cheaper than the 1600mhz memory cards o_o , you think it would be good in my build?
