Whats up everyone? The sky obviously.

So i spilled my Razer DeathStalker the other day and I cleaned it and stuff ( http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/238814-wet-razer/#entry3281016 )

But theres a problem...

I tested it and I found out that not all the keys work. I found out that there is a little of dirt on some touch pads and it doesny want to get off with water or rubbing.

What substance can I use to clean it that wont eat up the membrane?

I cleaned my membrane about a month ago (individual couplets are a fucking nightmare) and I let them soak in a bowl of extremely hot soapy water. After the water was cool enough to put my hands in, I ran my fingers over every single one of those bastards. I also cleaned the key-caps and springs in the same water.

Just let em soak until everything comes off easy. In my case, about 3 hours, cycling the water every 30-40 minutes

Why do people hate membrane keyboards so much? Most keyboards are membrane ones anyway, and they're not that bad that you have to spend a freaking 100€ or somewhere around that price, just for a keyboard that works. Not all people can afford those.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

The comment was more tongue in cheek rather than to be taken seriously, as there has been a mechanical keyboard revolution going on, well slightly..

Some people care about it more.

As a programmer, I'm stuck to the keyboard, membrane feels like dipping your fingers in porridge, at-least to me. Each to their own though.

I've only used Membrane keyboards during my life (as I said earlier, mechanical keyboards cost far too much, and I'm a cheap-ass), so I can't really speak on superiority of mechanical keyboards. Membranes have been enough for me, and will continue to be enough for me.

I tried to clean the membrane, but I found out that dirt was not the problem, but some connections were cut. I do not know how this happened but it is unrepairable. Should I buy a used keyboard and replace the membrane or just buy a new keyboard?
