Looks like slimline SATA... Not sure...

Might be mPCIe, but it looks too long...

Possiblly m.2?

What are you referring to? On the left are your RAM slots and the right is an m.2 Sata lot. I can't see another connector.

Hello, I have a Lenovo Y410P and on the inside there is a connector that I have no clue what it is. I am hoping that I can use the connector for some sort of SSD. Please Help. Thank you.

Seems like it's an M.2 slot for NGFF SSDs, like this one

Aniallation, thank you for the help. I am just really worried to buy a SSD and it does not work because I do not have much cash. Problems of a high school-er.

It's really weird that Lenovo doesn't even mention it on their sales bumpf. I don't know how you will load it up. If it was me I'd chicken out and leave it alone. You can get really over your head when it comes to laptops.

Can you take a system restore image to a usb flashdrive? That's the only thing I can think of to get a working copy of your O/S to a m drive.

That is part of the reason I am having so much trouble. I was unaware of the connector till this first time I cleaned the system (consequently broke a screw but all fixed now). I read stories of people calling and the person on the phone said it was a SATA slot or something. No one is really sure what it is.

I think I am going to chicken out. Really wish I could make the laptop much faster. Sort of sad that it has a high end CPU and is really bottle necked by a slow HD.
