What an odd coincidence. I was gone all day and when I got home my middle monitor was completely blank and after a restart it was freaking out for a good 5 minutes. Whatever it was it managed to sort itself out though...

My kids windows 8 pc does it too when a TV is hooked up as 2nd screen.

Fix was a restart. Stopped when I disconnected it. I doubt it's card cuz I have a 2nd pc with the same 7870 direct cuii no issues and never had an issue with dual monitors before my rig before 290x was installed

but i use a 7870 xt, completely different gpu, mine is tahiti le instead of cape verde.
