Hello community!

I am in the makings of a custom case and my current concerns(besides the prototype...) are some longer cables! I sincerely hope I did post this in the correct forum section, apologies if not!!

I would need some longer cables(and cool sleeved) for the PSU and I saw some nice ones being used for the builds that the community used.. could you drop of some links on where to find them? I did search but what I found was not so conclusive. (I`m using the Corsair HX1000i)

Since I`m gonna do some funky stuff with the video cards I would need longer SLI cables(about 18-20 cm or ~7.8 inches) I seem to find only 12 cm or 4.7 inches. I already ordered some PCI raiser cables(but if you have a great source for that too, please tell me) and do you know the difference of a molex and capacitor ones and simple ones?

Those would be awesome if someone knows these stuff...

Take care,

Alex

For the SLI cable you may need to custom make one like this below where they solders two SLI bridges together but also be aware that there may be issues making the SLI longer due to signal loss and interference, and the molex capacitor PCI-E extenders are powered which help drive the GPU due to the extra length (usually very long extensions), basically giving a bit more reliability since some times theses PCI-E extenders are a hit and miss situation where they may or may not work.

you will have to make the SLI ribbons yourself (or go AMD with their XDMA engine). for that, i would reccomend you just take 2 bridges and one of those "dev" boards that is full or holes, as well as 2 sli fingers from some old GPU or something, and solder stuff together ;)
