Windows XP Turns 13

So the time is nearly upon us. Windows XP is about to turn 13. There are many ways we can commemorate this, I personally am going to install windows XP Home and use it for the day. But the point of this post is I want you to change your desktop background to The old Windows Bliss wallpaper to celebrate this momentous occasion, regardless of what operating system you are currently running. Then post a screenshot of your modern Bliss desktop along with either your favorite time with XP or your favorite thing about it. Lets show Microsoft that no matter how much they try to move on, even after they cut support, we still remember, always.

 

I will always remember Having my Dell Optiplex GX280 Running Windows XP, Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 3GB DDR2 RAM and an 80GB HDD. I was playing Call of Duty 2 one day and my computer blue screened then wouldn't start up because it was complaining about temperatures being too high. I opened the case up to air it out a bit and found that I had melted the tops on two of the four heat pipes for the CPU block.

My favorite features of XP would be Outlook Express and the start menu, they just got it so right in XP with the two columns.

reminds me of my 512mb ram and 2nd gen p4 with 32mb agp gpu memory

You were lucky :P

 

I had the same P4 with 512MB RAM, but I only had 8MB of iGPU memory.

XP is older than some members here..

I remember fucking up my brother's computer that I think ran Windows 98 (Or was it ME, not sure) when I was 4. He was really friggin' pissed. He then bought some Dell tower w/ Windows XP, that's when I was first exposed to PCs. :D

Yea I'm only 17 but XP was what I grew up on and I feel it's one of the best things Microsoft has created.

i grew up mostly on osx. but im mastering both osx and windows tbh, id feel great using either or.

I grew up on XP aswell. I had two XP computers, one Dell computer, and another HP Pavilion, both of which were bad for gaming and hand-me-downs. The first computer I actually bought on my own was a crappy $300 that used a laptop APU, and it was the first time I used Windows 7 (I was in 6th grade, 10th now). It wasn't until in May of this year, I built my first rig, running 8.1, and my first EVER, awesome PC gaming experience.

Reminds me of that 1.8ghz single core intel Pentium d laptop that i had with 2gb of ram and some ati mobility card.

Kinda seems crazy for @Jodomcfrodo running XP in his rig.....

It's a joke. I run 8.1 don't worry. :)
