hey guys, im thinking of moving to Windows8! just because it is more friendly with my FX processor than windows 7. Moving to Windows8 will help me use the full potential of my FX processor and also improve performance since Windows8 knows how to use the processor. My brother has a Win8 laptop and i think Windows 8 would be awesome. I know the differences in gaming are not much of a difference but i want to use my processor properly instead of Win7 taking forever to load.. I have installed the patches for Win7 to fix processor compatibility to windows7 but i have not felt any difference.

My Questions are!

1. Should i move to Windows 8?

2. Will it be compatible with my hardware? (check my Signature.)

Thanks people of LTT. :)

I'd say do it, once you know all the gestures and learn how to work with them, it's actually quite nice. It's faster and looks better IMO.

Hardware is definitely compatible. The only problem I had was a usb wifi adapter that didn't work in w8

i have a WIFI PCI adapter and i dont think the drivers are getting updated anymore. Do you still think it might work?

PCI will probably work, and if it doesn't, you can always install it in compatibility mode.

I don't see why not move to windows 8. Its a good OS and it uses fewer system resources in general than win 7 so it should give you a faster start up time. The hardware you currently have looks to be compatible so you should be fine. Another nice thing is you can pin your favorite games to the start screen.

Yea sure go for it.

If you need assistance on the start screen. Remember that you pin folders, and any program you want, you can make groups and name too.

Here is my start screen. Microsoft recommends to arrange the icons from the most used at the bottom left, to the least used to the far right top.  As for most used application, pin them on the task bar.

I hope this helps you get started a bit.

If you do work on your computer and you want a backup, have a look at File History feature of Wind8. It's awesome!

And of course, stay tune for the free upgrade for Win8 users.. Windows 8.1. Details of the OS are being revealed slowly by Microsoft. Basically, Microsoft collected proper user feedback, and telemetry data, and continue to improve the OS. Microsoft now follows a yearly update cycle.
