GTX 760.

Lanoi has one, I had it before him. I benchmarked it against Lord Pantaloons GTX 760, and we found they are about the same as each other from what I can remember.

That follows with how it seams to work.  A card drops down 1 tier with each generation.  a 680 is about a 770 and a 780 is about a 970.  I would expect a 680 to be about a 960 ti

Confirmed.

I've had all three of these cards, a 660ti, a 760, and now a 580. They are all pretty much the same in terms of fps, but as far as stability and raw performance, the 580 takes the cake. If you do get one, I'd update the VBIOS to a later version if MSI Afterburner doesn't allow you to max out the fan speed to 100% because with the later version of the VBIOS, they changed the fan curve to give better temps, and a wider fan speed control - 30% to 100%, rather than 45% to 80%.

I can't find the link to the new BIOS but do some googling if you get one, and you'll find it, along with NVFlash, and run it, sweat and get an adrenaline rush, then it will be fine.

only reason i wanna know is for a potential sandy bridge build.

I would say that the 580 is closer to the 660 Ti than the 760, the 760 is easily faster than both. I noticed the performance difference immediately even though my 660 Ti was very highly clocked. The difference between mine and Lanoi's system was a good ways apart for valley, he scored somewhere around 1500-ish and I scored around 1800-ish which for valley is a large gap. That being said valley is not the end all be all benchmark but it is more representative of actual performance than many other benches.
