reset icon images? D:

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

1- If you have pinned item on the task bar where the icons are not being displayed properly, remove those affected ones, and go to C:\Users\<ACCOUNT NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar, an make sure these icons are removed from there as well, if they are not.

2- Clear the thumbnail cache. (Open: Disk Cleanup, then check the Thumbnails check box, and then click on the OK button).

3- Save what you have open, because your computer will restart automatically.
Open the command prompt as true administrator, then type the following commands:

    taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
    DEL "%localappdata%\IconCache.db" /A
    shutdown /r /f /t 00

Once back in Windows, pin your icons again on the task bar, if you had some that was not displaying properly initially, and it should be fixed.

I disconnected my data drive to connect a laptop drive to get some stuff off it and all the shortcuts i had for programs on the data drive are gone. how can i get them all back without having to manually make correcting each shortcut image?
