Holy shit your brother does not know how to balance. FX-8320 with a Sabertooth R2.0 and H100i? Only an HD6870? This is very unbalanced unless it was made then the FX-8320 was just released and even then it's pretty unbalanced.

You need a better GPU and you need to OC the FX-8320 or switch to intel. If it were my choice I would try to sell the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and FX-8320 and get an I5-4690k instead (I7-4790k if you do not want to upgrade again for a significant amount of time). As for the GPU if you switch to intel or OC the 8320 to about 4.4-4.5GHz (Not the likeliest of cases) then you can easily run a GTX 970 for 4-6 years on 1080p or 2-3 years on 1440p

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

The graphics cards are definitely shit, that's what's gonna hold you back the most.

I would personally get a GTX 970 and a nice SSD.

Then save up some more and upgrade your motherboard and CPU later to an i5 at least.

The cheapest GTX 970 is about $100 more than the cheapest R9 290. The GTX 970 ain't $100 better.

And the flame war begins. He has to decide for himself. They both have their pros and cons.

Pros and cons aside, $100 is $100. If the difference was $20, I'd say 970.

As for flame war, there's no audience here. The cheap quips are rather wasted.

I would pay those 100$ extra just for the great software, the regular driver updates and the fact that nvidia cards perform better in a lot of games because of that.

I've had bad experience with AMD cards personally. Also, why do people buy way more nvidia cards than amd ones? It's not because they have money to throw out the window.

Anyways, I'm not gonna discuss any further, everyone has to decide for himself what he likes and buys. Also, the price difference may not be that huge depending on where he lives.

Thanks a lot for the comments, you guys are awesome ! Unfortunately Intel is rather expensive where i live, so what would be good to balance with the Sabertooth and h100i ? And i will sure change the GPU as soon as possible haha  :P

All you need is a new GPU and an SSD. The rest are good parts. The intel equivalent of your platform is better in gaming, but the price of getting those parts aren't worth the performance increase. The GPU and SSD I listed earlier will prove themselves.
