Lenovo Yoga 2?

I'm looking at getting a lenovo yoga 2 to replace my 5 year old broken mac book pro. 

 

I am looking at 256GB model for $1049.

 

Can anyone suggest a better laptop with superior build quality but same or better performance, This is only going to be used to take notes in class and watch video, with potentially light gaming on the go.

Macbook Air? Seems perfect for your use case.

 

If not, just get this.

I am staying away from apple because I would be putting windows on it anyway so I would rather go with something touch screen and able to do light gaming.

Why not shell out a bit more and get the Broadwell-powered Yoga 3?

How much better is the Broadwell chip going to be? Will it be worth the price?

imo yes, since you're already going big might as well spend the extra money for the new release of the Intel chips for a laptop that'll last a bit longer. The Yoga 3 also has a noticeably better GPU and improves on many other aspects of the Yoga 2 including the hinge, trackpad, WiFi, size and weight.

The Yoga Pro 2 is a very good laptop for the money, but if you are looking to buy now and you are willing to shell out a little bit more money (and wait a bit) I strongly suggest get the Yoga Pro 3... Broadwell is awesome and the new Yoga looks a lot better.  The main problem with the current Yoga is that the wifi card isn't the greatest and the hinge durability after a year or 2 is questionable.  The Pro 3 gets a better wifi card and a completely new hinge design... not to mention it's amazingly thin!

OK if I am going to be getting this laptop for last two years of high school and college will it be able to compare for that time.
