Quick question about fan controllers

If I was planning on getting a fan controller to well, control my fans, could I use a 3 pin splitter to hook up 2 fans to 1 channel? Could I, hypothetically, repeat this, plugging splitters into splitters, as long as the channel supports the wattage of the fans I eventually plug in?

Most fan controllers are usually made to power 2 maybe 3 fans with spiltters at most, I don't think you'll be able to find a controller that can supply that much wattage. It could just end up breaking the controller.

But as long as the fan wattage max is lower than the channel's wattage, it will be ok, right?

Yes.

Just make sure you do your math right, and leave a bit of extra wattage room for error.

Also when motors start up from being still they will take a surge of power approximately 1.5x that of the rated continuous wattage.

Check the overal power usage then I like to add 10% as alittle overhead.

Most fan that I have use, have used a tad more Watts then they are suppost to..
