I5-2400 hyper-threading?

Then why does speccy list it as supported?

 

It must be either a software glitch or the CPU does support it but Intel has hardware locked it so it can't run HT.

Hello good folk of the LTT community!

 

So I was using speccy to monitor CPU temps during BF4 and I noticed something awkward.

I thought I5's were physically unable to have hyper-threading yet speccy lists it as supported? Could someone please explain?

From what I know it is NOT hyper threaded

 

Your image backs my statement: 4 Cores 4 thread is correct.

i5's from 2nd gen and update on the desktop platform does not support HyperThreading

Then why does speccy list it as supported?

Meeeeh, went to bios and saw the setting but it was locked and on N/A :C

The Core i5's do have hyperthreading but it is disabled hense why it says 'supported, disabled'. A little like the Core i3's are quad core but two cores are disabled.
