In the past two years I recently gained an interest in IT and computers since my brother does IT and since then I decided to build a gaming computer. (I'm 15 BTW)

This is "Lucy" I finished building her in July 2014.

Case: InWin GrOne (Grey)

Motherboard: ASrock Fatal1ty Killer Z87

CPU: Intel i5-4570

GPU: EVGA GTX 750 Ti

PSU: EVGA G1 750W

RAM: GSkill Ares Series 8GB Dual Channel 1600MHz

Storage: 120GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD (Boot) 2 TB Toshiba HDD (Storage)

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

I mainly use her for gaming and recording for YouTube and as a Plex server.

Please comment what you think.

cool! the cpu is a little over powered for that gpu, but its totally fine. plus you could upgrade to like a R9 280x in the future if you wanted to.

I'm pretty sure that the 1st pci-e slot is where you should put your GPU as it is a 16x slot, I'm not sure if the slot you have the gpu in currently operates at the same speed, I'd guess it only runs at 8x..

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

you can run a 290x on 8x and it still performs the same so i don't think it will matter...

All three slots are 16x. No performance hit.

No it's not too powerful...

Where did you get that from?

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

no, its not super powerful by any means, but one of those new Pentiums would run this system no problem. what im saying is that a GPU of a equal tier of that cpu would be like a R9 280x

They're not. 16X physical, 8/4X electrical most likely.

OP- put your card in the first slot.

Very nice cable management for a first attempt. High five.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

When one card is present the cars runs at 16x.

When in the first and second slots (SLi/XFire) 8x/8x.

And when three cards are used 8x/4x/4x

Since the GPU is in a 8x slot, it will run at 8x. Performance hit is literally minimal.
