Radiator Fans

jd2195

I am looking at getting some new radiator fans for my upcoming build but im not sure which fans are good at the moment. I will be using either 2 240mm radiators or potentially 1 240mm radiator and 1 280mm radiator so I may need 2 140mm fans. I do not want to be spending more than £10 per fan and I would like them to be black, ideally the fan blades would be removable (although that is not a necessity) and I do not want them to LEDs.

Thank you for any help

My rig: i5 2500k, MSI Z77A G45, Gainward GTX 980 Phantom, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, OCZ ZT series 750W PSU, 1TB HDD, 800D, fully water cooled. I am currently working on modding my HAF 912+ to fit a custom loop, here is the build log: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/165963-project-viridis-water-cooled-haf-912/

Noiseblocker PK-3's are apparently good for Radiators, CM Jetflo's are decent enough too.

Gentle Typhoons if you can find them are amazing. I do not know how much the phanteks sp fans are outside of canada yet it shouldn't be hard to find. And bitfenix spectre fans can work, just aren't the best.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I have found a supplier of gentle typhoons but they are pretty expensive, these are pretty cheap:

How would they perform on a radiator?

Cooler Master Blade Master 120mms.

These fans are incredible Static pressure fans.  They come in at your budget.  They are black, no LEDs, inexpensive compared to others, and perform very well at medium to high RPMs because of their 3.9mm/H20 Static pressure rating.  They do get loud at 1600rpm+, but I never have the need to run them higher than 1400rpm, and I typically have them at 1250rpm.  They max out at 2400rpm.  They are amazing radiator fans and don't get enough love.

Those look good. They are probably at the top of my list so far. Thank you

I don't think you will find anything else that meets your criteria.

Golden Rule(s) for Fans: CHEAP + SILENT = NO PERFORMANCE ▼ CHEAP + PERFORMANCE = NOT SILENT ▼ SILENT + PERFORMANCE = NOT CHEAP

The bolded rule is where these fans fit in, thankfully they are fairly quiet at 800-1400rpm, and perform very well.

What thickness and FPI are the radiators you will be using?

The one radiator I have so far is pretty rubbish and is only 27mm thick and has an fpi of 16 but I am probably going to be getting rid of it. I am looking at getting alphacool nexxxos radiators, one st30 240mm and the other xt45 240mm/280mm.

I believe the Corsair fans are good, I have some, they look good and are very quirt.

have a look here, http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/case-fans/air-series-fans

Ye they have some good review but for reason I do not like the aesthetic of them. Don't know why but I don't.

The two radiators that I have, a 27mm thick, 240mm has an FPI of 20, the other is a 30mm thick, 120mm rad with FPI of 17.  Both are AIOs, Cooler Master Seidon 240M for my CPU, X31 for my GPU.  Check out my temps:

Seidon 240M pump @ 1350rpm(90%), 2 Fans in Push @ 1250rpm(50%)  Cooling an i5-4670k at 4.5Ghz - 1.160v

NZXT G10 + X31, Pump @ 1500rpm(90%), 2 Fans in push/pull @ 1500rpm(60%), 92mm VRM Fan @ 2400rpm(75%) Cooling an EVGA GTX 780 SC at +100Mhz Core, + 250Mhz Memory, stock voltage

5 Hour Long BF4 Session, ambient temperature of 23.8C/75F. Case is beneath the A/C vent, so that helps with temperatures.  Especially with my CPU because the top radiator fans are in push, sucking in air from the outside.

A look at my case, the Phanteks Enthoo Pro.

Only cost me ~$185 to water cool both my CPU and GPU to get those temperatures.  Something to consider before you start spending 400 pounds + on water cooling your system.

-snip-

My current system is already water cooled and I am set on doing it again. I know I could achieve the same temperatures I am going to get for spending less money but the main reason I like doing it is for the aesthetic it gives. i will be using acrylic tubing which i love the look of and have been modding my case for a while now to make it fit the aesthetic I want.

Yea, acrylic tubing looks amazing.  I wish I had the patience for that.  I'm cheap though and went the AIO route =(

I checked out your build log, I'm excited to see the new updates. I subbed.
