i suspect that's some crappy adware and not actually part of the adds of this website, you caught something, your pc is unclean and filthy. Do some scans with malwarebytes etc.. possibly reinstall browser, see if you can get rid of it.

In the picture you can see he is alreadyt suing ABP, i would recconmend this one instead: http://goo.gl/4I2hyX

By the way if you want to support linus you an do what i do and set it so ad block doesn't run on this domain.

Thats the problem, these ads are not only appearing in the forums, but everywhere.I had this issue before, but I don't know how did I fix it then.

Check your program files both x86 and x64, plugins, and uninstall programs you don't know.

You have malware/adware installed on your PC.

Also, check the task manager (processes) and kill all unecessary tasks also.

Try removing and then reinstalling ABP. Worked for me a few times.

In the top right there is a red sign that says ABP on it.

even with adblock it still shows an empty square

the adware still exists
