Good cheap microphone amp/soundcards?

I recently got a build together with the MSI mpower max ac and I'm using a modmic with it however the mic volume is awfully low and if I turn the boost up, the noise is unbearable. The realtek noise suppression makes the voice unnatural so that's not preferable. Anyone have a fix for this problem or maybe a cheap mic amp that I could get?
