How long does thermal paste last?

How long would an open (not sealed, but with the cap on) tube of thermal paste last? (before it goes bad.....does it go bad?)

Find thermal paste you like and read in the description at time it will tell you how long it good for! 

 

But you can always tell when it no longer good because your CPU or GPU will get really get hot out of the blue

 

like example if your GPU temp was 60 and one day she in the 80! the thermal paste is no longer good put new thermal paste on

None of the thermal pastes I've used are sealed, most just have a cap on.
