Here is my updated build of my X99  PC I've been planning.

I plan on running 5760x1080 on full graphics settings.

Let me know what you think.

Wireless is required as a cable cannot be routed to my room currently.

SSD and HDD will be configured in RAID-1

(Monitors/Stand are included in this price)

I know, "X99 isn't for gaming!" This build is close to the same price as a z97 based build, so why not go x99 and be "future proof."

Any and all feedback is appreciated, thanks!

x99 is definitely not 'future proof'

it probably will not be compatible with the next generation processors.

Z97 has been confirmed to work with broadwell and possibly skylake, there there is a much longer future with Z97.

It also performs better in gaming then the 5820k.

G-Sync BenQ monitors, and it's more economical to get 2 of those SSDs and put them in RAID 0.

Also, if you want the prices slashed, you're going to need to get all the components from a non-preferred list. You're also going to have to let us adapt the list. I've already saved you a few $ by switching out the SSD's, could definitely slash a few more $. If this is going to be a purely gaming build, I'd start with the platform.

This is a more sensible gaming build, though if you want the price lower, you need to ditch the 3 BenQ monitors and grab an ROG Swift instead. Gaming is supposed to be better on a single larger monitor than it is on 3 slightly smaller ones.
