Worth The SLI?

Go to solution Solved by Fate,

I have a 3770k system, no graphics card... I was wondering would it be worth 970 or 980 SLI in it. I know SLI is not normally worth it although, I love the way it looks it it at all ever worth it? Edit: I got the CPU from work on clearence for $50 bucks after all was said and done.

Yea it would be worth it, that CPU is still one of the best pro-sumer processors.

Define worth it.

From a performance standpoint 970 SLI makex great sense with a 3770K.

980 SLI doesn't make sense from a price to performance standpoint however would still be just fine.

It will  look amazing and still play games like a boss. and not be bottle necked by the CPU.... I am running 3 monitors.

It'll definitely be worth it. 970 SLI makes more sense for you but even 980 SLI wouldn't bottleneck.

If you can use the power and have the money to spare, sure. Otherwise, it'll depend on how you value your money.

Also.. $50-- Explain?  :D

They are trying to get rid of that generation of CPU so it was marked down 25% then I get 25% employee discount and bam $50 CPU!
