Air Cooled Pentium K build

Hey guys,

Thinking of putting this together I want something thats aircooled and running z97 chipset for future upgrades. I don't game the only cpu intesive task will be audio rendering/encoding otherwise it will just be used for day to day activities such as facebook and youtube and what not.

Will all this work together?

what case fans should I get? (I'm thinking maybe some Arctic F12's)

also, will I need to swap the heatsink fans or stock case fans (hoping to OC to atleast 4.0ghz)?

Thanks in advance,

The heatsink is such overkill. You should be able to push at least 4.2ghz if not 4.4-4.5ghz with the stock cooler.

No ssd?

Gelids are cheaper: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/gelid-solutions-case-fan-fnsx1210

PWM CO's are worth the extra money if you're willing to spend more: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/arctic-cooling-case-fan-afaco120pcgba01

I wouldn't take a pentium K if you're not gonna game and you want to multi-task. You're probably better off getting a i3 or i5 with a cheaper motherboard and no after-market cooler.

H97 supports overclocking much like the Z97 provided it is given the update it requires to do so. The cooler I have chosen is quite the nice piece for the price, similar to the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for much less. Case is good but costs far less than the one you chose. Extra fan to go in the case (comes with 4, can take 5). Could spec a better PSU, but you'd have to go non-modular to keep the overall price low.

Lastly....where's your GPU?  You said you don't game but even so, a nice new PC might be the very thing you need to get started.

Getting a quadcore APU would be a better idea even if you don't plan on gaming
