Why do you want X99 in the first place?

Get a Z97 instead unless your gonna do hardcore video editing, rendering or things like that.

That sounds like showing off(IMO). If you wanted 6 cores, just wait for AMD to make a new FX cpu that has 6 cores and a new socket because AM3+ is dead(IMO).

^ This. Wait for AM4 and get the new 8 cores. They will be epic for modelling and rendering as that stuff can use all the cores you can throw at it, and will likely still be cheaper then X79
