b85 chipset question

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

so like fresh out of the box i dont need a bios update?

No, you don't.

it happened to a friend of mine he just gave up and went to a 9 series chipset

With default settings? What were the voltages at?

so does haswell refresh (g3258 in particular) fit into b85 mobo right out of the box?

Might need a BIOS update, check with the motherboard's website for compatibility.

There's no need for a bios update for compatibility--just for oc'ing.

yes but there can be some cpu overvolting problems where it automatically overvolts it to high hell without trying to change anything

Where'd you get that info? I've never heard of that being an issue before.
