Hey, I've had my I5 2320(No k) for 2 years now or just about and i find my cpu is getting maxed out very easily. I'd like to stay on the same Socket Because i don't want to upgrade my MoBo(Just in case you're wondering its the LGA 1155 Socket). I've thought about getting another I5 like a 3570k but i have also thought about an I7 like a 3770k. Please help if you have any Input.

The i7 3770K would be helpful if you planned to edit/render videos or do stuff like that, but if you plan to mainly game on it then the i5 would be a better option.

Games at this time do not really benefit from hyperthreading, so it would just be extra money spent for something that won't benefit you over a lower priced option.

I'd suggest switching to LGA1150 and getting something such as an i5 4690K instead.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I disagree. With DX12 and Mantle on it's way, we'll start to see more and more titles supporting 8 or more threads.

Judging that he won't be upgrading for awhile (he's using a CPU 2 gen before), I'll say a 3770K would be better for him.

That "i5" will suffice, but we'll have to see how future games really handle CPU workloads.

I don't see point going from i5 to i5. If you want noticeable upgrade, then go with 3770k.
