hey, I recently bought a E10K and it finally got here. Usually when I have headphones on my audio panel, I have "enhancements" and with this it doesn't show that option? any ideas ;o

The enhancements in windows are handled by the driver (realtek in most cases). And the external dac you bought is basically an external sound card, so the realtek enhancements wont work, you will have to find some other solution (SRS audio essentials or something like that) or find a driver which includes it.

You're on your own when it comes to windows magic default drivers, and FiiO doesn't touch software.

wait..... are we talking about the enhancements tab in a sound device's properties window, or, like, the stupid realtek software that autostarts with windows on many PC's?

Do you have any THX or Creative software installed? If so, uninstall it. If not, you're pretty much SOL.

If I remember correctly, enhancements tabs depends on the audio device and the driver it used. So basically the driver tells the windows, 'hey, my card is able to do these enhancements, so just show the tab to the user'

E10k is USB class 1 (not USB 1.0). USB class 1's connection only able to transfer basic 2 channel audio signals, I think. And it's driver-less, doesn't need any driver. Good for compatibility (you can plug n play in windows, mac, linux, ipad, android phones, etc), but yeah, no enhanchements.

What?

Use an EQ...

When a friend clicked bass boost on his earphones, it made things sound like utter shit. Such clipping has never been witnessed by man before.

As said above, use an equalizer. You could also throw more money at better headphones.

500 Dollar headphones aren't enough now a days? hm, interesting
