Hey,

being in a musician family means big volumes of coffee and hurting hands.

Naturally my parents (especially after concerts) can't use a traditional mouse, due to the fact that the clicking motion requires to stretch sinews, that are already under stress and pain.

After using trackpads only for the past decade, the laptop used is slowly dying and will be replaced by a small formfactor, non-techie friendly pc.

Now comes up the problem with the mouse again.

Are there mice with an incredibly light touch or alternate input methods, where hands are to be used as little as possible.

Touch will not be an option, as its to far away for the parents to grasp.

Having gaming mice only on my behalf, I cant find anything fitting.

One of those shitty days, when you hit Enter to brake a line and it simply posts for you, before you even finished the first sentence.

You can edit posts you know? Its Next to the "Quote" button.

Mice for musicians...O_O well try to be creative if you could hook up a midi keyboard & then press down on the keys (hotkey) to a browser/mouse movement would be epic. I

Is it for general use or specialized applications? If its to control specialized music creation applications, you might think about checking out a wireless 3d mouse - would be great for perusing timelines and whatnot. I've been drooling over 3d mice for a while (for CAD), but havent tried one out yet, pretty sure it cant be used as a normal pointer mouse - its meant to be used in conjunction with either a pen tablet or standard mouse.

I always guarantee that no more than 50% of what I say is useful.

General, standart mouse for non-techies.

If you don't want to move your hand trackball is the option. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/trackballs People who have carpal tunnel or just any orther wrist problems use those and they like it. There is even one guy playing competitive league of legends with a trackball. But if it's your fingers that hurt idk.

Well, as far as I understand that concept of a Tracking ball, is that you still have to press on the ball to click I suppose.

Guitarist here and I definitely get what your folks are going through. Personally I can just make it with my Steelseries Sensei but sometimes it all ends up in days of wrist pains which means taking a break from everything. I've heard some people quite like the Contour RollerMouse but I haven't tried it myself.

Like I said, idk how to solve clicking problems. Track ball only helps with wrist movement.
