Microphone Help!

So I want a decent microphone for commentaries and such, and was thinking about getting the Audio Technica ATR 2500 because it seems to have good audio quality,( if you turn down the microphone volume) not a lot of background noise, but I read some reviews and quite a few say it breaks really easy. Is that true? if so what should I get? Also I will be using a popfilter and an arm to it will be about 10" away from my face.

Thanks in advance!

I have the ATR 2500 and  blue snowball as a backup and never really needed to use it. As the ATR 2500 is great. picked it up on amazon for a good price a few years ago and been using it ever since. I have mine on 60 for the level, as anything above that all you get is background noise.
