Split stupidity continues: Symantec to split into 2 companies

The stupidity of this is beyond bounds. HP I can understand, HW and services. But a fucking SW only company. Wonder which company will be next, maybe Google can split to like 17 different companies, all cos shareholders are fucking retarded.

So, can anyone think of any reason why this is a good idea? I mean, Norton is a shit product, so nothing can save it, but aside from that?

AMD splits back into AMD and ATI with Rory Reed taking up the ATI portion?

Seems logical actually. And Norton being shit is subjective. I could also say that iOS is shit or AMD is shit, but that doesn't make it shit.

It seems like the GPU part of AMD is what's keeping them afloat. Their only CPU innovation of late has been shoving an R7 GPU onto a low end CPU, so I'm not sure separating them is a good idea. As happy as that would make Intel, they hardly need more of a monopoly.
