Well i use the 6300 and it works great. I cant picture the 4100 being that much slower. If all your doing is gaming i would say keep it.

lol i also use the same motherboard

Also what FPS do you get in modern games?

Depends on the game. Usually between 30-40 if i turn things down. Usually. but they dont look amazing.

I am whatever I am.

I would probably upgrade the GPU i have a 7850 1GB from HIS and i can max every game i have. So really it all depends on your budget.

well this will be the last major upgrade i do for a while, so Id like to get the best GPU i can. AMD chips are so cheap (less then $200 for an 8xxx!), i could upgrade at a later time if i absolutely need to.

Edit: i also dont have a good cooler (first gen h60), so i dont think i could get an 8xxx fx chip and OC it right now.

I am whatever I am.

Your budget will be helpful.

What would your budget for a GPU be?

What would your budget for a GPU be?

Well, you dont NEED a 8xxx series processor for gaming, nor do you need a 6 core like me, what you do need is a good GPU like a 660/660ti

I like red team. I've always preferred AMD. My budget is probably going to be about $300 for the GPU give or take. And about $400 give or take for everything.

What about for a CPU and GPU upgrade?

Considering that. I'm just trying to get a feel for how much of a benefit it would actually give me.

I am whatever I am.

Well, i would get something like a 7770/7790 and then get a Cooler and a 6350

Hmm, somehow i never thought about getting a slightly less powerful GPU.  I was so focused on getting the 7950 I guess. Also, would my current H60 be enough for a 6350? It keeps my current CPU around 40c with its current OC. A new cooler may not be viable in my current case.

Never knew of that site until just now. Thanks. :)

Well i have this cooler:

And i stay at 30-40 degrees Celsius full load (Its a great little cooler XD) so you should be just fine even with a OC

These chips stay very cool (From my experiance)

Good to know. :)

Also, for about $380 I've decided on a 6350 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202025'>this 7870. I might change my mind on the card, but I would prefer to have 2 native DVIs, as both of my monitors are DVI.

I am whatever I am.

Thats a solid configuration. You should have no problems with heat either. Post the outcome when your done!

Why not the 8320?  And if you're going to get a 6350, get a 660ti instead.

I strongly recommend getting the 8320 over the 6350, and pay a little more for a 660ti.

He said above that he is not a fan of the green team, and besides a 7970 would be better if he was going to get a more expensive card. And the 6350 is more than enough.

Not for his budget unless he's just doing a GPU upgrade.  Even then, he'd have one hell of an unbalanced build.

My personal choice, only $10 more.  :)

The 7870 is just fine and matches the CPU perfectly. I'd say to go with it. Even the 7850 is great with it.

If I were to do just a GPU upgrade at this time, I would get the 7950. It generally seems to perform a bit better, and any AMD card comes with 4 games. What good is a GPU if you can't afford games for it? You do bring up a good point about having an unbalanced build. Which is ultimately why I'm electing to go with a slightly lower tier GPU and a moderate upgrade on my CPU. In my opinion the dual upgrade will maintain a decent balance in hardware.

I am whatever I am.
