Hello everyone!

I am looking for an upgrade from my current processor. I currently have an intel pentium g3258 overclocked to 4.4 Ghz. I am looking for something that will provide me with a noticeable improvement without costing a fortune. I am looking on spending about $200 (AUD).

In gaming?? because id just stay with that. Unless your playing a heavily cpu intensive game a better gpu would make more of a difference

|| MAELSTROM ||

|| i5 3570K W/ CM 212x @ 4GHz || r9 290 Windforce || Corsair Obsidian 450D || 2tb HDD + 120gb 840 evo SSD || 2x4gb Hyperx Fury Blue

The 4460 would give you more cores, but less single-core performance

if you have the cooling, I'd suggest you get a 4690k for $270

It's really the only one that'll give you significantly more performance in games, if you OC it.

^ He's right... Stay with what you get unless you need more cores.

which mobo do you have?

i saw on your profile something like the Asus H81M- plus?

Is this still actual?

Because if so, then just grab a locked i5.

Yes this is my current mobo, but which i5 would be a good choice for the money that would provide me with a noticeable performance boost?

you will see improvement with any i5. So get the best locked i5 that you can afford.

The i5 4590 is $199 at newegg. Not sure what that is in AUD
