Hello, I recently found out that the reason my computer is so loud is not the graphics card, but the AMD stock CPU cooler. I was thinking of getting a Hyper 212 EVO, but that either points up or down. I want to know, does it make a difference if it is pointing up/down rather than towards the exhaust fan? (There are no fans on the top of the case). If it is better to point it towards the exhaust fan, could you recommend a CPU cooler that faces the exhaust fan? Thanks guys :)

points up or down? You mean you can only mount it horizontally?

You want the CPU cooler fan to face the exhaust fan? A few CPU fans are designed to suck air through the heatsink instead of blowing it away from the heatsink, it's done this way for optimization, the 212 does it and my noctua as well - Just follow the instructions on the box, you wont go wrong :)

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

if you dont ever want to hear your cpu cooler again and want to get some decent cooling performance take a look at be quiet!

EVERYTING is louder than a be quiet! ;D

exept running some passive cooling but that isnt an option for real

Yes. I was planning to get a 212 EVO, but from a video I watched, that only goes in horizontally on AM3+ boards.

Dependant on your case's airflow but i would think pointing upwards is better :)
