Considering a dual socket upgrade

I've found a pretty good deal on a pair of intel xeon x5650s, and an ATX motherboard to fit them.

 

only issue is all of the other upgrades that would have to be made (I'd have to buy more ram, 4x2GB at least, to go triple channel)

 

I'd have to up my PSU too, and also I'd have to spring for a pro copy of windows (or go completely Fedora/Ubuntu).

 

Is it worth it? The board & cpus comes out to about a $200 dollar purchase.

I'd buy the CPUs and board, then wait for the rest if you don't need it immediately.

 

So worth it though.
