This is one sexy beast LOL ;-) This is my destiny. Even the molex adapters are cable sleeved but then again no self respecting enthusiast would use them LOL !

Exotic or cool =/= classy

subjective though it's all opinions

Carbon Fiber is an extremely exotic and high quality material. Weather you like how it looks or not I don't really care as ones opinion has no effect on the high performance and high quality, exotic nature inherent to this highly valuable and coveted material.

I agree that it is a nice material. Just would have preferred it in a less aggressive, more subtle design.

Like I said before, this all comes down to opinion, and you have made your preference very clear. :)

dude, you do know that that's not real carbon fiber on the card, right? Its plastic made to look like CF.

its actually not even very good fake CF, just grey lines printed on black plastic:

Rather go beyond the inconsequentialities and consider the performance. Lets speculate that one for awhile please. How about them fancy "Power Boost" cap things on the back LOL they got to make it way faster right LOL ?

Yes this card is an overclocker's dream. But at this point most people would probably buy a 980.

first off, carbon fiber can only be hand crafted and a piece with the complexity of that fan shroud would cost more than the card itself to manufacture. Secondly, I edited a picture into my previous post, take a look.

"Carbon ExoArmor" is just the marketing name for it.

Carbon Fibre is great. Bends but does not break. (As shown in select VAIO models)

It's the "I'm for gaming!" design that is being criticized.

And the fact that it is not real.

But the Cheapest 980 is a reference one for $610 which is $140 more than this one.

You make a good point, this card would provide a nice middle ground. (I did buy a reference one for 550 but I guess that's not the same) To that I would respond: if you feel the need to get that much performance out of your card, it may be time to save up for a better-performing one.

No, carbon fibre can be machine crafted.

At least Sony can do it.

It's carbon, thats made into a fiber. Layered. Cured. Sanded and then painted/coated.

I rather get a high quality fully aftermarket card with silent cooling and extreme OCing potential for a bit less money than a reference card with blower style cooler for more money even if it is a tier above. Now I just have to wait for the reviews to come out on this card to see if it performance as insane as it looks. LOL
