I'm a huge fan because of the aesthetics and the programs of OsX and because my whole family has macbooks and iphones. I went this route to get more power and have more fun. It's really very easy to get one up and running if you follow the correct help. I've done 6 different builds for customers and everyone is happy as can be since they bought a mac for $500. XD. I have my hackintosh dual booting windows 8 as well though. My rig is in my sig and heres a front pic of my (almost) complete rig.

Anyone else rocking it?

I have a question several questions for you.

I'm planning to build a hacking tosh for myself and a friend of mine.

1) Can I load a mac os and windows os off a single SSD?

2) is the Fatal1ty Z68 MoBo Hackintosh Compatible?

3) How stable is the hackintosh?

4) is the difference between a normal mac and a hackintosh really that great?:P

on an intel platform my only serious problem has been drivers(and selecting the right kernel as I was using single core). I think I got everything working except ethernet, but I use a usb wireless card so It doesn't matter.

as for stability, no different than apple hardware.

Will work for electronic components and parts

1. Yes you can, you're gona need at least a 200gb SSD if you don't want to run into any issues and there's gona be a few work-arounds to fix the internal clock. 2. Yes it does, but there's gona be some more workarounds to fix. Here's a link to it so you get started: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264886-solved-lion-on-i7-2600k-asrock-z68-extreme4-sound-not-working/  3. If you get compatible hardware, its perfect. I have mine running stable and fully working 100% for almost a year now. once you get it working, its really worth it. PM me for any help you may need cuz I build these regularly for clients.  4. Yes! My hackintosh will blow any Mac Pro you buy from apple. The 6k maxed out mac pro can't even stack up to my sig rig.

Hackintosh ONLY works on intel. Are you using a usb adapter?! Or a PCIE card? If you need serious help, head over to tonymacx86. They got you covered.

How stable is a hackintosh?

It's incredibly stable with compatible components and some ingenuity. :)

Hackintosh ONLY works on intel.

it's possible on AMD, I haven't done it, but I know others have.

I have built many Hackintoshes over the years, Tonymacx86 has all the information you need for building one yourself.

I have used Gigabyte and Asus boards (Z68 chipset) with no compatibility issues. Just make sure you do your research before starting your build =)

Mess with the best, die like the rest.

It's tremendously hard to do thats why I'm an advocate for intel only hacks.
