I'm planning to get a new system next week for about 1000$...

I play a lot of different games, currently on 1080p, but gonna upgrade to higher resolution monitor in the next 6 to 12 months.

Don't need peripherals or OS.

Here is what I'm planning to get:

Please share any thoughts or advices for the build. My main concern is for the motherboard, but I'm already going over my budget so I can't afford anything better.

Thanks :)

Nothing wrong with the MB except you can't add another GPU later (PCI Lanes won't run SLI right). If you plan to add an extra card for 4k later go with the MSI someone suggested. Other than that it looks solid. Of course you will need a bigger PSU for 4 k and 2 cards, but you can switch that out a lot faster than a MB.

Also good luck finding the Gigabyte GTX 970 actually in stock at 369 :(. Trying to grab the G1 myself and no dice. It is already being price gouged.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.

Like Themaniac said... I'm was going for Blue/black colors, the mobo, RAM, gigabytes logo on GPU and the case fans are all blue.

Hmm if I end up needing more SSD storage I can get a 2nd one as a future upgrade, always wanted raid 0  :D

But I might go for better PSU for future proofing.

Thanks for the replies

Yeah sorry, really my bad there :P Your part is good, dont worry about it.

As for PSU, you need around 500W for 1 single GTX 970, and if you plan to go 2 ways SLI in the future then get a 650 or 700W instead.
