Hello, I might need a new motherboard, as the audio jacks on the rear and front of my computer are not detecting any audio devices. Therefore, I can't get sound. Would I need to replace my motherboard as the sound card on the mobo itself has crapped out? If so what would the best mobo be for the i7 950 which I will OC like I have now.

You shouldn't have to replace the motherboard. You can simply install a dedicated soundcard, which can range from a $10 USB device all the way up to $400-500 boxes, depending on what you need.

Normandy - Intel Core i5 3470, 8 GB Corsair Vengenace LP, EVGA GTX 960 SSC, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, WD Blue 1 TB, Seagate 320 GB (steam), Seagate 320 GB (experimental, second OS, etc), Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 14.10

Garrus - HP Stream 11

Yeah I know but I used to get sound through any headphones I plugged into the audio jacks. Like technology it's only time before some other part of the mobo craps out on me. Thanks for the suggestion I will probably buy one instead. Thank you:)

Well how old is your system? What type of Board and Chip do you use? If your system still runs everything nice and smooth for what you want and how you want it, Just spend 30 bucks and get a decent sound card addon and call it good. Alot cheaper than 150 for a new board...
